A Galveston native who grew up in Dickinson, Mark graduated from the
University of Texas College of Pharmacy in Austin, where he met his wife, Annis. Mark has always been a collector and started
dealing in the buying and selling of antiques in the early 1980s, while still managing Houston area Walgreens stores.
Mark and Annis started their own antiques
and collectibles business in the 1980s, first in the River Oaks Antique Center on Westheimer and then adding a location in
the Heights on 19th Street. They opened Antiques Houston on West Dallas near downtown in 1995, consolidating four
locations into one.
Mark and Annis moved Antiques Houston to
Carolyn Thompson’s Antique Center of Texas in 2006. Among Mark’s many selections are the Houston area’s
largest offering of antique leather-bound sets of books for the discerning collector or decorator. That’s not all!

Annis grew up in Jasper in Deep East Texas before going
to the University of Texas College of Pharmacy in Austin, there she met fellow pharmacy student Mark Harrison and married
him. She balanced her career in pharmacy with raising two sons.
Annis has always appreciated and collected
fine linens and textiles. She has traveled the world, accumulating much of her collection in Europe, Asia and South America.
Today, she believes she found the very finest items in France, Belgium and Italy.
Annis and Mark have been partners in antiques
store locations in Houston since the 1980s and came to Carolyn Thompson’s Antique Center of Texas in 2006, opening two
distinctive booth locations on Aisle 10. Annis’ passion is offering for sale parts of her personal collection of antique
laces and embroideries.

Before she began what she calls her “fun life”
dealing in antiques and meticulously restoring all types of porcelains and pottery, Farah served as treasurer of a well-known
offshore company.
Farah graduated from New York University,
where she focused on computers and science. Her extensive corporate work included writing computer programs in four different
languages. Today her technical skills and incredible attention to detail serve her well in the very different line of work
that gives her joy – bringing beautiful antiques back to perfection.
